One platform for the whole institution

Institutions typically run admissions in one tool, fees in another, exams in spreadsheets and parent communication across dozens of messaging groups. Institution OS brings these together on one platform with a single login, role-based access and data that stays consistent across modules.

Each institution switches on the modules it needs. Parents, students, teachers and drivers use a mobile app; administrators and staff use a web console; the institution gets its own website on a subdomain or custom domain.

Designed for how institutions in India actually work

  • Per-child communication for families with several children, labelled with each child's name and class
  • Online fee collection that settles directly into the institution's own merchant account
  • Live bus tracking with one link per vehicle for each parent
  • An in-app messenger designed with end-to-end encryption so teachers' phone numbers stay private
  • Optional WhatsApp notifications through Meta's official WhatsApp Cloud API, used only where they add value
  • English and Hindi interfaces at launch

Highlights

A few of the details that make a difference day to day.

  • Access

    One login, many roles

A person can be a parent in one institution and staff in another, switching roles without separate accounts.

  • Access

    Common app and white-label apps

Institutions can use the shared Aadhyay app or request a branded app of their own.

  • Communication

    Channel routing

Routine updates go to the app; WhatsApp and SMS are reserved for situations where they add value, which keeps messaging costs under control.

  • Transport

    Live tracking links

Parents receive one tracking link per vehicle showing their children's stops.

  • Finance

    Fees with GST-aware invoicing

Fee structures, discounts, receipts and online payments with reconciliation.

  • Web

    Institution website with SEO

A CMS-driven website on a subdomain or custom domain, with structured data and sitemaps.

How it is built

Engineering decisions that keep each institution’s data separate, portable and auditable.

  • Multi-tenant with database-enforced isolation

Every institution's records carry a tenant identifier enforced by PostgreSQL row-level security as well as application checks.

  • Modular monolith

NestJS on Fastify with clear module boundaries, separate API, realtime and worker processes, and every module switchable per institution.

  • Vendors behind adapters

Payments, messaging, storage and maps sit behind adapter interfaces so providers can change without rewriting modules.

  • Web and mobile from shared contracts

Next.js web console and websites, Expo React Native apps, and shared Zod schemas between them.

  • Audited and exportable

Hash-chained audit logs for sensitive actions and full data export for every institution.
